International Customs & Import Fees

All orders from Maison Maxine are shipped from the United Kingdom. Depending on your location, your order may be subject to customs duties, taxes, or import fees upon arrival. Please review the information below to understand your potential obligations.

Customs Fees and Import Duties

As the customer, you are responsible for paying any import duties, customs fees, or local sales taxes required by your country to release your order from customs.

  • Duties are not included in your checkout total.

  • If applicable, the carrier will contact you with details of any additional charges.

  • Customs policies vary by country and are beyond Maison Maxine's control. We cannot guarantee or estimate specific fees in advance.

Country-Specific Information

United States

As of April 2025, under new U.S. trade regulations introduced by the Trump administration, the $800 USD de minimis threshold remains in effect.
However, new universal import tariffs of 10% now apply to most goods entering the U.S., including from the UK, if the order value exceeds $800. Higher duties may apply to select product categories and countries.
Please consult U.S. Customs and Border Protection for the most up-to-date information.

Canada

The de minimis threshold for imports is $20 CAD. Orders above this may be subject to duties and GST/HST as determined by Canadian customs.

European Union (EU)

  • Orders under €150: No customs duties apply. Maison Maxine is IOSS registered, so VAT is included at checkout.

  • Orders over €150: Duties and VAT will be calculated at checkout.

    • Exception – Germany: For orders over €150, duties and taxes are charged on delivery due to local customs procedures.

Australia

Orders under $1,000 AUD generally enter duty-free. Orders over this threshold may incur import fees and GST.

All Other Regions

Customs charges may apply and are determined by your local customs authority. You are responsible for any fees due.

Refusing to Pay Customs Fees

If you decline to pay customs fees and your parcel is returned, a shipping and handling fee will be deducted from your refund.
